The Infamous Mugs Away Saloon, renowned for the classic mooning of the Amtrak commuter train was rocked to pieces Saturday night via the antics of three local bands. Line up included Loco Mesa featuring the catchy dynamic tunes of Kevin Lafferty -- The Hip Replacements and their awesome three part harmonies -- and of course the Porn Star Rejects commanded by the jaw dropping antics of singer frontman Jeff Wright Adding to the festivities was a special appearance by popular Canadian celebrity gitar slinger Paxton Bachman -- Who's Uncle and Father are founding members of The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive ____ _____ 03/07/08 -- Loco Mesa and The Porn Star Rejects Gig Mugs Away A groovy swell time was had by all as the local OC muscians strut their stuff and rock out at Mugs! Where were you? ____ _____ 02/22/08 -- Loco Mesa and The Porn Star Rejects Shock Huntington Beach The very hip Marlin's Nightclub got a taste of our maniac bunch of happy go crazy musicians stirring rave reviews from media and skank chicks alike! Yah, you should been there! ____ _____ December 2008 -- Final Mixdowns and Track Tweaks for New Ription CD After two weeks in studio mixing final tracks - Rip spends the Holiday's port hopping up and down the Mexican Rivera - Nothing beats Christmas in Cabo! ____ _____ November 2007 -- Ription - Elzy Lay - Paxton Bachman Tour Europe Starting at the Lake Lucerne Blues Festival in Switzerland, the boys rocked the famous Roadhouse and made some excellent jamming buddies along the way! After crusing through Italy the lads could be found partying hardy at all the hot spots along the French Riviera including Menton, Monaco - Monte Carlo, Canne and Nice (which was really "Nice") The Americano dudes, guitars in tow, continued down the Riviera ending up in Barcelona, where our deluxe suite at the Barcelona Princess awaited us in all its splendor! My personal highlight was a busking experiment within the underground train corridor (I was always curious how much these street vendors really made) - I allocated exactly one hour, and crooned the local commuters with a mix of Elvis - Beatles - Pop and my Orginals. One hour to the mark, I headed back to the hotel bar, guitar case so heavy with coin I had to double fist it. I dumped the booty upon the table and we started counting. To me and the boys utter amazement, I made 56.00 Euros and change - which was about 82.00 US! (Tax Free mind you). Needless to say, I'm moving to Spain next month. ;-) Top
